The crimes for which the art. 353 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Planning, preparing, unleashing or conducting an aggressive war". It is shown that these acts are part of a system that protects the peace and security of mankind and (or) states. The author's definition of crimes against the peace and security of mankind, as well as their classification, based on the current criminal legislation, are proposed. It is justified that hh. 1 and 2 tbsp. 353 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation contain independent components of crimes, the circle of special subjects of the named encroachments is outlined.
