The article investigates the mechanism of continuity in the development of statehood in different periods. Discusses the subjective point of view on the issue under consideration. The author analyzes the historical information stated in the topic. In the result of the study, the authors come to the conclusion that the continuity in the development of statehood is manifested through the continuity in the development of the elements comprising it. This phenomenon is possible only with careful consideration of this mechanism in the course of historical development of state and law, as well as economic, social, political and cultural spheres of society, affecting the public-legal phenomenon.
