The article focuses on the constructional structure and identification informativeness of modern signatures of Russian citizens. The list of causes that led to simplification of the modern signatures’ structure is represented. Taking account of the study of African countries’ representatives’ signatures, the authors describe graphical formations included in the signature composition. These graphical formations make it highly informative and allow fulfilling the ascertaining and protective functions in documents to the full extent
