The article deals with the item of extortion which proves to be one of the most serious offences such as encroachments on public property and individual liberties. Being the main source of income of organized crime extortion is widely spread through the country regions. These offences have a high latency and social danger. They are hazardous for society due to their mercenary and violent nature which may affect the supreme value - the life and health of the individual and their property. Moreover, all sorts of extortion represent a real threat to free economy in Russia. Thus, crime detection and inquiry has become the matter of substantial relevance for the Internal Affairs bodies of RF[§].
