The article consides one of the most urgent issues of forensic medicine - forensic medical examination of the severity of harm to health. The analysis of the expertise of the department of victims, accused and other persons of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination for 2014-2016 is carried out. The author outlines a number of problems that significantly hamper the work of law enforcement agencies in the investigation of violent crimes. The reasons for which, within the framework of forensic experts to establish the severity of damage to health by physicians, forensic experts have not established a health hazard and a mechanism for causing damage.
