The article examines the regulatory framework governing the representation of participants in the criminal proceedings of the CIS member states, taking into account the specific features of the participation of foreign citi-zens in the criminal proceedings of the countries under consideration. The use of comparative legal analysis allows for the identification of differences in the con-tent of legal norms governing the procedural status of participants involved in the representation process, the determination of the range of participants who have the right to use the services of a representative, the clarification of the range of individuals who are allowed to participate as representatives, and the analysis of the content of legal norms that define the mechanism of participation of repre-sentatives, as well as the criteria for selecting representatives based on the specif-ic features of the national legislation of the countries under consideration. In ad-dition, special attention is paid to the forms and types of legal and technical con-solidation of these norms in the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Codes of the CIS member states. The identified features and positive experience can contribute to the development of domestic legislation in this area of law.
