This article examines the feasibility of forensic age determination of shoe prints at property crime scenes (thefts, robberies, assaults, etc.). The relevance of this problem stems from the need to strengthen the evidence base at the initial stage of an investigation, given the need to accurately determine the time of print formation. This, in turn, will ensure the objectivity of suspects' testimony, allow for the identification of unrelated prints, and limit the search period for suspects. This paper examines the nature of the print as a comprehensive source of information, including morphological characteristics. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of print changes over time under the influence of environmental factors (temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind erosion, mechanical impact).
